6 things CBA students NEED to take advantage of post-COVID
As we reach March 2021, we are coming up on the one-year anniversary of school shutting down for a “quick” two-week break. Even though school has been back for some time now, this year has shown many students at CBA that a big chunk of Academy life is sorely missing.
With vaccines beginning to be rolled out, there’s a glimmer of hope and optimism for next school year. Here’s what we have to look forward to (and definitely not take for granted)…
- Sports + Fans (IN PERSON)
We all miss the Colt Crazies, as this basketball season continued without them in the stands. Parents were able to watch some CBA sports in-person towards the end of the winter. In professional sports, fans in New York and New Jersey are allowed to go to stadiums at a limited capacity. Hopefully, CBA sporting events are going to welcome back the best fans in the area.
- School trips
The popular CBA trips for service and education were canned this year, but they will make a comeback once travel opens up. Many students are going to be begging to get out of New Jersey once the virus is under control and CBA trips will be in demand.
- Concerts + Performances
Live music and plays seem almost to be something of the past nowadays. Seeing all those people in one crowded space feels weird. But it will be back. The CBA Pegasus Production Company continued to work throughout the pandemic to keep their shows rolling. Everyone will be eager to watch a performance (unmasked) soon.
- School Events
Assemblies will be back following herd immunity, as well as other events through fundraising and clubs. There’s going to be tons of opportunities to get together with classmates outside of the classroom. Maybe Battle of the Classes will make a comeback?
- More Clubs + Opportunities
Next year, there will be more chances to join something you love or try something new at CBA. No more excuses for not staying active outside of school. Make new friends and more memories next year.
- Normal Lunch
We’ve all missed sitting next to our friends at lunch, unmasked and closer than six feet apart. Today, we struggle to hear a friend who could be 12 feet away and often times lunch just turns into an extra free period. Hopefully, more socialization at lunch can return to normal in the future.
