CBA Fall Sports Recap
2024 Colts Soccer
The Colts saw an earlier end to the season than in the last couple years, knocked out by Notre Dame in the State tournament. However, the Colts still had a wonderful season, going 16-6 and winning A-North in states. Highlights of the season included a 7-0 thrashing of Holmdel in the regular season, a late win over Middletown South, and a 2-0 win over Lacey in the Shore semi-finals. The Colts made the Shore championship and played their hearts out, suffering a devastating 3-2 loss to a strong Colts Neck side. Senior Phil Bodenski was named the player of the season for his performance at Central Midfield.
2024 Colts Cross Country
Continued domination. That sums up the CBA cross country team this year, as they claimed a 27th New Jersey All-Groups championship. Also, the CBA national record continues to grow, as the cross country boys won a 400th straight dual meet- a streak that has been alive since 1974. Under the leadership of Seniors Ryan Schmitt, Joe Barrett, and Alex Mastroly, the Colts stormed into Nike Cross Nationals in Oregon. The Colts placed 5th in the nation, a relative underperformance for such a talented team.
2024 Colts Rugby
What a year for Colts rugby! On the way to their first Sevens state title since 2016, the Colts absolutely cruised through the state tournament, destroying Bergen Catholic and Morris, before defeating St. Augustine and Union to win the state! To top it all off, the U16 squad took home the State tournament championship on the same day! The Colts squad was highlighted by electric Juniors such as Fionn Moroney-the teams top scorer due to his unmatched field intelligence- Cole Ryan, and Jordan Young. Seniors Keegan O’Conner and Leo Viganola had great seasons as well.
