Games to Watch: CBA Soccer Edition
The soccer team is coming off a season for the ages. After last year’s season concluded with a thrilling double overtime victory in the Non-Public A championship against Delbarton, the 2019-2020 Colts have a lot to prove. As of September 20th, the team is currently 3-2-1, with two statement wins against Washington Township to open the 2019 campaign on September 7th, and a win this past Sunday (9/15) against St. Joe’s Prep in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. This game marked the first time a CBA soccer game was played outside of New Jersey, which resulted in a 2-0 win. Yesterday, the CBA-Middletown South game ended in a 0-0 tie, and the Colts will next play Freehold Borough on Wednesday, September 25.
Team Captains Connor Anderko, Luke Pascarella, and Noah Santifort, have led the Colts off to a fast start, and have high expectations for the rest of the season as we look ahead to some marquee matchups:
9/28: CBA vs Ocean Township: Takes place right after the 4th Annual Keane Cup Alumni Game.
9/30 – CBA vs Saint Benedict’s Prep: St. Benedict’s Prep is 8-0 on the year, and should be a good test for the Colts toward the latter part of the year.
10/5 – CBA at Seton Hall Prep: Seton Hall Prep is 6-0-1 this season, and could be a game that determines the Colts’ playoff hopes/seeding.
10/10: CBA at Freehold Township: This is the last game before the Colts begin their Shore Conference Tournament and State Championship campaigns.
