Keeping Up with Clubs

At the club fair this past Wednesday, September 18, CBA saw many new clubs join the program and many returning programs ready to return to business as usual. For the uninformed, this year, CBA saw a whopping eight new clubs join the program. This article will go into depth about some of these new clubs.

Fishing Club

One of the newest amateur clubs, the Fishing Club, is finally the outlet fishers of the Academy can go to discuss all related things. A place so people can discuss their latest catches, the new and best lures to use, and better knots so fish do not get away. The club plans on having at least three to four trips.

Brother to Brother

This is a club made for brothers by brothers. The aim of this club is to spread awareness of teen mental health while raising money for suicide prevention. Its goal is to help students beyond CBA and country-wide be safer and healthier. The club will also host other events to spread awareness and get the word out about important subjects while also having some fun.

Comp Sci and Cybersecurity

A club geared towards aspiring students interested in becoming part of Cybersecurity companies. A great place to get a foothold in the career, especially because there was security testing hardware on display. The club cleverly discusses these complex concepts in easy-to-digest formats while also discussing how to be safer in today’s modern society.

Hacky-Sack Club

The latest and most activity-centered club brought to enrichment is the Hacky-Sack Club. Meeting out in the courtyard near senior sitting and Project GROVE, the Hacky-Sack club is getting new high scores in their endeavor to further their skill in the sport. It’s a fun way to get moving on a Wednesday morning. Their current high score is twelve returns at the time of this writing; however, this number will mostly definitely rise at the next enrichment.

The beauty of these new and blossoming clubs is that they were all created by students who are passionate about the topics discussed during these meetings. This shared passion allows many students to find their people and people who enjoy these activities just as much as they do.
