NFL Week Seven: Start and Sits

NFL Week Seven: Start and Sits

Welcome to the weekly NFL Fantasy Football Starts and Sits for Week Seven. With the bye week taking teams by surprise, they need to maneuver the waiver wire and take backups off the bench.

Start: Curtis Samuel-WR-Commanders

Samuel has been consistently putting up at least 14 points for the last three weeks. His usage in the Commanders’ offense has gone up significantly both in the pass and run game. This weekend he matches up against a league-worst Giants’ defense. That should see him put in a productive day, making him the first start this week.

Start: Kareem Hunt-RB-Browns

Hunt is a good waiver pickup if your team has a running back out on bye or injury this week. His role on the Browns is steadily increasing and he has goal-line carry upside, as shown last week against the 49ers. This weekend against the Colts, Cleveland should look to run the ball heavily, especially after the Colts lost their best run defender to suspension. This should propel Hunt into starting lineups this weekend.

Start: Drake London-WR-Falcons

The Falcons offense has been inconsistent and unpredictable outside of star rookie Bijan Robinson, but Drake London has the potential to be very useful. While Desmond Ridder has been up and down all season, London has still been able to produce when given targets. The last two weeks saw London scoring 14 points without having a touchdown in either contest. Against an inconsistent Buccaneers team, London should put in a respectable performance and be a quality starter.

Sit: D.J. Moore-WR-Bears

Moore and the Bears’ offense were starting to look promising until Justin Fields went down with a hand injury. Fields is listed as doubtful to play this week and even if he does play, a hand injury is sure to limit his passing ability. Moore had a massive performance only a few weeks ago, however this week he should be riding the bench.

Sit: Alexander Mattison-RB-Vikings

Mattison has not been the workhorse that fantasy owners had hoped he’d be this season. With that being said he has been serviceable at best, but this week is not looking good for Mattison and the Vikings offense. This week the Vikings host the 49ers whose defense ranks at the top of the league and is coming with a vengeance after a heartbreaking loss to the Browns last week. Without Justin Jefferson, the Vikings may lean on the run game, but when the 49ers take the lead, Minnesota will need to pass to stay in the game. The 49ers defense should shun the Vikings run game, making Mattison a sit this week.

Sit: Quinten Johnston-WR-Chargers

Johnston was a highly touted prospect coming out of TCU which led him to becoming a first-round pick. However, his usage thus far has been very disappointing. After the Mike Williams injury, he was anticipated to take a starting spot and fill that role but he has done anything but that. Until he proves that he can do anything of note he is going to ride the bench.

Best of luck to all teams this weekend!
