Pegasus Yearbook Earns National Honor
After a major revamp of the Pegasus Yearbook in 2018, the yearly publication earned an American Scholastic Press Association honor, as announced by the organization late last week.
Pegasus won the first place honor with special merit for their 2018 “Can’t Reign Us In” edition.
“The staff of the Pegasus Yearbook worked extremely hard last year. They created a beautiful book and should be very proud of this amazing accomplishment,” said Vicki Meehan, faculty co-advisor to the Pegasus Yearbook.
This Association solicits and collects yearbooks and student publications from across the country, reviewing each submission and giving each a graded designation. Books are either unplaced or receive honorable mention, second place, first place, or first place with special merit.
On any given year, only about 10-25 schools receive the highest designation, as Pegasus did this year. CBA’s yearbook was evaluated on a 1000-point scale and judged based on content presentation, general page design, general photography, publication structure, and creativity. In total, Pegasus received a tremendous score of 970.
“This award is a great honor the entire staff of the yearbook,” said senior editor Matt Tracy. “We all worked incredibly hard to make a great yearbook, so it is an amazing feeling to be nationally recognized. Last year’s yearbook highlighted the great history of CBA and it was fun to be a part of the creation process.”
With a national award in tow, the Pegasus Yearbook staff is now hard at work planning the 2018-2019 edition. The yearbook is co-moderated by Mrs. Meehan and Melissa Widdis.
