Proodian Column: What a day for the Colt Crazies
Wow, what a day it was for the Colt Crazies.
Supporting the varsity soccer team in the third round of the Shore Conference Tournament against Colts Neck, the attendance was great with at least 100+ kids wearing black while cheering on the boys on the turf.
Through all the chants, screaming and cheering, the Colt Crazies motivated the team to pick up a huge 2-0 win, helping them move on to the semifinals of the conference tournament. A matchup is now set against Middletown North on Thursday, October 20 in Neptune at 6:30 p.m.
We’re not done, however.
The Colt Crazies already know the date, time and opponent of this next game, so the attendance needs to be doubled from the Colts Neck game. Oh, and it is a Pink Out. Together with the Student Council, we’re supporting breast cancer awareness month by having hundreds of Crazies wearing pink.
We need this to be an extremely rowdy showing in one of the biggest games of year… in any sport.
Like any good team on the field, the Crazies always can improve.
This energy that the Crazies brought to the turf on Monday was great, but it was not incredible. In the semifinals and finals of the Shore Conference, the Crazies need to pick up the intensity from here. The games are only getting more important.
Year after year, the Colt Crazies make playoff runs an incredible experience for both the school and the teams they are rooting for. You want to see the most electric high school soccer game ever? Go see a PACKED Colt Crazies game on Thursday or Saturday night in Neptune at the Summerfield School because I can guarantee you this: we are bringing it for these next two games.
Oh, and I don’t even want to talk about the energy that these Colt Crazies are going to show the opposing teams in the State Tournament. More on that later. Go Colts.
