Top 10 Anthems: The Eagles
Rest In Peace Glen Frey, 1948-2016
Since the year of 1971, the world-famous Eagles have been gracing the soft rock stage with their beautifully crafted songs. They have a specific sound like no other band and it truly makes them a special group.
Honorable Mentions:
- “Tequila Sunrise”
- “Love Will Keep Us Alive”
- “Wasted Time”
- “Please Come Home For Christmas”
A very difficult list to make, here’s my list for their top 10 songs:
- “Life in the Fast Lane” (Hotel California, 1976)
To kick off the list, “Life in the Fast Lane” is a tune that is heard on the radio often. Coming from the very famous album, Hotel California, it is certainly a fine addition to anyone’s playlist.
- “Desperado” (Desperado, 1973)
One of the earlier hits, “Desperado” is a relaxing, fan favorite that mostly features the piano. It is considered to be an Eagles essential.
- “Take It to the Limit” (One of These Nights, 1975)
Adding to the list of radio hits, “Take It to the Limit” is a song that is recognizable to many. The harmony of the voices can be heard from a mile away in this underrated hit.
- “New Kid In Town” (Hotel California, 1976)
Contributing to the practically flawless track list of Hotel California, “New Kid In Town” presents the listeners with the guitar skills of the Eagles. It is diverse and a must-add to any Eagles playlist.
- “One of These Nights” (One of These Nights, 1975)
Beginning with an iconic riff, “One of These Nights” provides listeners with the iconic Eagles sound, while also having a more rock n’ roll feel. It is without a doubt a memorable tune, despite just missing the top five.
- “Peaceful Easy Feeling” (Eagles, 1972)
Straight from the Eagles’ debut album, “Peaceful Easy Feeling” is simply fantastic. The guitar, the singing, and more bring the song together to be number five on the list.
- “The Best of My Love” (On the Border, 1974)
The way “The Best of My Love” begins is simply perfect. The guitar can give any listener goosebumps. Worthy of number one on the list, there are a few other songs that top this one.
- “Hotel California” (Hotel California, 1976)
Arguably the most popular Eagles song, “Hotel California” is widely regarded as one of the greatest songs ever written. The way it’s performed, the lyrics, everything about it is just perfect on all levels. If you remove the music, there is no autotune, giving the listener the band’s harmonizing voices.
- “Take It Easy” (Eagles, 1972)
Taking second place is one of the most known Eagles songs, “Take It Easy.” The lyrics flow effortlessly and the instrumentals of the song are simply fantastic. A must-add for any playlist.
- “Lyin’ Eyes” (One of These Nights, 1975)
I bet you didn’t see that one coming. Coming out on top, “Lyin’ Eyes” is my top-ranked Eagles song. A common word used to describe Eagles songs is iconic, and this tune is no exception. The lyrics tell a story, the harmonies are flawless, and the guitar plays like no band before them. It is a fantastic song and ranks as one of the best songs ever created.
The Eagles are widely considered to be one of the greatest bands ever to grace the stage, and the list does them no justice. They have many great songs, some are fan favorites and some are just appreciated for their musical creativity.
The Eagles are now on their Hotel California 2022 Tour, showing no signs of slowing down…
