Week 3 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em
With week two of the NFL ending and heading into week three, there have been players who have shined and those who have struggled. There have been stars that keep performing and hidden gems that are standing out. On the other hand, some do not look promising. We will cover which players are rising or falling, and who you should start or sit for week three of fantasy football.
Players to Start in Week 3:
Derek Carr QB, Saints
Derek Carr has put up amazing numbers with five throwing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. In week one and two, he threw for over 200 yards, totaling 443 throwing yards. Carr is ranked QB two in most leagues and we think he will continue his impressive start to this season.
D’andre Swift RB, Bears
So far this season the Bear’s offense has been horrendous. D’andre Swift has only rushed for a total of 48 yards and has 24 receiving yards, but he looks promising for week three. Swift and the Bears will be going up against one of the worst run defenses in the league through week two, the Colts. The Colts have given up the most rushing yards with 474 yards. Teams throughout the NFL have realized the best way to exploit the Colts defense is by attacking them on the ground and it would be no surprise if Swift and the Bears do the same.
Rashid Shaheed WR, Saints
The Saint’s offense has been outstanding so far through week two. Shaheed has had a very good season so far; especially as the Saints third option behind Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara. He has recorded 169 yards and two touchdowns in just seven receptions. Shaheed will be going up against the Eagles defense who has given up more than 500 receiving yards and the third most receiving touchdowns.
Players to Sit in Week 3:
Matthew Stafford QB, Rams
With Cooper Kupp expected to be out and Puka Nacua also unavailable, Stafford will have very scarce options at receiver. Stafford will have to face a strong pass defense in the 49ers, a team with two interceptions and five sacks through week two, with a low-talent receiving core.
J.K. Dobbins RB, Chargers
J.K. Dobbins has been good so far this season however, Jim Harbaugh is insistent on splitting the backfield between Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Dobbins has put up over 200 rushing yards with two touchdowns but will have to face a very strong run defense in the Steelers. The Steelers have allowed the fourth least amount of rushing yards and are one of only two teams that have not allowed a rushing touchdown. The Steelers defense thrives against the run game and you should avoid playing Dobbins if you can.
David Montgomery RB, Lions
David Montgomery has been and will most likely continue splitting the backfield with Jahmyr Gibbs. The Lions will have to face a weaker defense in the Cardinals however, they have been strong in stopping the run game, especially in the first half so far this season. The Lions may lean on their passing game and give fewer touches to their running backs. With the Cardinals being one of the strongest first-half defenses there is a good chance that the Lions will switch to favoring Gibbs more in the second half leaving fewer touches for Montgomery.
That wraps up the CBA Digital Network starts and sits for week 3 of the NFL season, stay tuned for more starts and sits every week of the regular season.
