Week 5 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

Week 5 Fantasy Football Start ‘Em Sit ‘Em

With week four in the books and Week five starting up, some key players will help or hurt your fantasy team. Players have risen above all with some falling behind. Some dark horses have a chance to shine and some stand-out players might fall off. We will cover which players are rising or falling, and who you should start or sit for week five of fantasy football.

Players to Start in Week 5:

 D’andre Swift RB, Bears

Swift put up incredible numbers and a surplus of fantasy points last week with 93 rushing yards, 72 receiving yards with seven receptions, and a rushing touchdown. With the incredible amount of points that he scored for fantasy managers, he seems like he made a case to be a starter for this week. However, it was his volume that stood out. He led all Bears players in carries, rushing yards, targets, catches, and receiving yards. With this volume and production, you can see another productive week out of Swift in week five.

Jayden Reed WR, Packers

Reed has been productive through the first four weeks of fantasy with three touchdowns and over 300 receiving yards. In the two games this season started by Jordan Love, he has scored a combined over 60 fantasy points. The Packers also face a favorable defense in the Rams who have allowed three receivers to score over 20 points in fantasy. This makes Reed a must-start heading into week five.

Justin Fields QB, Steelers

The Steelers will be facing a limited Cowboys defense with Micah Parsons unlikely to play and DeMarcus Lawrence out for week five. Fields is also hot coming off his best week last week against the Colts with over 30 points and over 20 points in week three. Fields has scored six touchdowns, rushing and throwing, in four weeks with five of them coming in his last two games. Fields is getting hot and finding himself as we enter week five, will be facing a hurt defense and should be starting in your fantasy lineup.

Players to Sit in Week 5:

 Jaylen Waddle WR, Dolphins

With Tua Tagovailoa out the Miami Offensive has been anything but productive and that includes their receivers’ fantasy points. Waddle has been held under 40 yards every game without Tagovailoa. It has not just been him but Tyreek Hill and De’Von Achane have also been unproductive with all being held under double-digit fantasy points. However, with Hill and Achane being the number one option in their positions there is a chance for a breakout game or play but with Waddle being WR two his chances are less than slim. With all these tangibles Waddle should stay on your bench this week.

Garrett Wilson WR, Jets

Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson have not connected as many Fantasy managers hoped for. He has been out-produced by Allen Lazard who is leading the Jets in receiving yards and touchdowns despite having 10 fewer targets. Wilson has yet to record over 60 receiving yards through week four. These are reasons you should stay away from Wilson this week.

Buffalo Bills D/STs

The bills are in the lowest 10 teams in pressure rate at 18.8%. They will have to face the Texans led by C.J. Stroud who has been pretty good this season with a 95.5 passer rating and six touchdowns through week 4. Unless the Bills find a way to get to the young quarterback it will be a long day for Buffalo’s defense. There are better options for D/STs this week and you should not start the Bills for week 5.
