In a season where CBA Basketball returned to the Shore Conference Championship game, there was one standout leader for the Colts.

Senior Justin Fuerbacher’s performances were the catalysts for the Colts’ deep playoff run, earning him the CBA Digital Network’s Player of the Year.

“Going 21-5 overall and going undefeated in the division is not easy,” Fuerbacher said. “We worked hard to achieve what we achieved, and we had a lot of fun in the process.”

The Colts returned to the Shore Conference Championship game for the first time since 2016, which was in part thanks to the play of Fuerbacher and fellow senior Kevin Pikiell.

Fuerbacher’s consistent scoring ability helped him achieve a milestone that only 20 CBA players reached before him. In the Shore Conference quarterfinals, he surpassed 1,000 career points, a testament to his hard work and dedication over the course of his high school career.

Fuerbacher has proven to be one of the most reliable players in CBA’s lineup, making significant contributions in every game this season.

Throughout the season, Fuerbacher has been an offensive powerhouse, with 262 points in 20 games, netting out to an average of 11.7 points per game. He also averaged 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

One of the standout moments of Fuerbacher’s season came during a game against Holmdel on December 21, when he scored 26 points to lead CBA to a commanding 63-36 victory. His performance showed off his ability to score in a variety of ways.

His senior campaign earned him first team All-Shore honors, as voted by the Shore Conference coaches.

By the end of the season, Fuerbacher reached 1,044 points, which places him 20th all-time in CBA Basketball history.

While the stats and milestones are nice, Fuerbacher valued the relationships he has made throughout his CBA career.

“I gained a band of brothers and some really good friends,” he said. “I have relationships with guys that are juniors in college and guys that are freshmen here at CBA.
