Antonucci’s College Football Primer: Week Four

Despite a lackluster schedule, college football gave us a hell of a week.

Alabama vs. Florida was the game of the week. Alabama needed a fourth-quarter 2 point conversion to stop Florida in the swamp. This game showed that Alabama is human; they can lose. This game also proved that Florida is the real deal. The end score being 31-29

Auburn traveled up to Happy Valley and took Penn state and battled till the end, before ultimately falling 28-20.

Clemson and Oklahoma both won closer than expected games. Early season hopefuls VA Tech and UCLA dwindled away.

Penn State used its white-out to take out SEC hopeful Auburn and first-year head coach Bryan Harsin’s bid for a huge road win. With this big win, Penn State shows they are the real deal and could be the favorites out of the East in the big 10.

UCLA had a shocking loss to Fresno state ending their early-season feel-good story. Chip Kelly is gonna have to regroup these men. UCLA came back from down big but ultimately choked the lead.

This upcoming week, the game to look out for is Jack Coan and Notre Dame taking on his former teammates from Wisconsin in Soldier field. This game also is a big one for Brian Kelly as a win would propel him to his 106th win passing legendary coach Knute Rockne as the Irish all-time wins leader.
